Welcome to Tumblr!
After persuasive nagging from several of my friends, I finally gave in and signed up for Tumblr. My initial thoughts were that it would be something along the lines of MySpace, something which I never really got the hang of - partly due to the annoying business of inputting codes that you had to put in to change the layouts and install custom music, etc. (And some people wonder why it isn’t as popular anymore?). And also some random guy called Tom that sends a friend request to add him as a friend, which is fine - except that I don’t know the guy personally. I mean, who doesn’t know of THE TOM off MySpace? All of the reasons mentioned and more are reasons why I had deleted my account on it without regret, and with good riddance too.
However, as soon as I joined Tumblr, I found it to be a completely different experience from what I was expecting. No annoying friend request from some random person as soon as you join. Custom installation of themes is as easy as clicking the “Download” button, and it automatically applies it for you. Now, if social networking was this easy, you’d get a lot more people joining social networking sites. But anyway, that’s enough of me going on and on about this topic. I don’t want to sound too much like a critic! ;P
I’m looking forward to meeting other Tumblr users here, and to my friends that I already have found on Tumblr, may I just say thank you for showing me this wonderful website! ^_^
